We define our Care Ambassadors as employees who uphold Hospice of Southern Illinois’ standard for excellent hospice care and service by going above and beyond for patients, families, team members, or the community. They are respectful, passionate, and dedicated to our goals and mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals and their loved ones touched by a terminal illness.
Terri Sherfy, Health Information Manager, is a long time employee of 20 years and has had 3 personal experiences with hospice care. “We couldn’t have done it without hospice care! It’s important for me to work for an organization that is mission-driven.” Terri is passionate about resolving technology issues and interacting with her co-workers. Her dedication to this company and helping her co-workers is only part of why we appreciate her. Her talents and willingness to go above and beyond for so many years all with one mission in mind is invaluable. Her favorite quote is, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent,” by Eleanor Roosevelt.
As your local not-for-profit hospice, we want others to know that we live, play, and work in the communities we serve. Fairview Heights is one of many towns we serve in our 27 county service area. Terri adds, “I love living in Fairview Heights. It has a bit of a big city feel but on a small scale. I grew up in St. Louis, so I love being close.”
Terri attributes much of the success in her years with Hospice of Southern Illinois to her amazing co-workers and an awesome team.
