Kara Kennedy, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Hospice of Southern Illinois, loves helping people through what could be one of the most difficult times in their lives. Kara has been supporting, advocating, and guiding patients and their families during their end-of-life journey since December, 2011. Kara’s favorite part about her role is, “I love being part of a team instead of a solitary practitioner.” Kara has touched the lives of so many patients through her years of service to Hospice of Southern Illinois. We are lucky to have someone so talented and committed to caring for those who need us during such a vulnerable time.
We enjoy sharing a few things about each of our Care Ambassadors beyond the wonderful work they do+ here. Kara Kennedy enjoys retail therapy for herself at local antique shops or Pier 1 and TJ Maxx. She lives her life by a quote, “The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know,” by Albert Einstein. When our team can see the value in providing support to others while still learning along the way, it makes such a big impact. Kara realizes the value of being open-minded, positive, and caring so that she can continue to grow to help even more people along the way. A skill that cannot be taught, Hospice of Southern Illinois appreciates Kara’s ability to share her skills and experience with all those she helps. Last but not least, Kara also has a love for animals and cats.
