Donna Cunetto, Volunteer Services Coordinator, has been with us since 2015. Her desire to work in hospice care after working in healthcare marketing for 20 years came after a short, 2-year retirement. Hospice of Southern Illinois posted the Volunteer Services Coordinator position. Upon her hiring, we gained a kind and personable leader to work alongside her supervisor and over 100 people with a similar hospice heart. Donna’s favorite part of her job is working with the volunteers who give back so much. She enjoys connecting with the volunteers to find them a good fit at Hospice of Southern Illinois. Each volunteer plays an integral role in Hospice of Southern Illinois’ mission.
Patients, families and employees alike rely on the talents and time of the people who give back. Our volunteers are a selfless group who don’t ask for accolades. They are simply people touched by Hospice of Southern Illinois’ mission. Donna’s goal is to lead, engage and work alongside this wonderful group of individuals. Her hand and heart are so important in the success of our volunteer programs. We appreicate her passion for hospice and healthcare. Paired with her kind spirit, she has been a perfect addition to our Marion Team. Her favorite quote, “It is not enough to do good, one must do it the right way,” reflects her core values. We want to employ and keep valued team members with the same core values.
When Donna Cunetto isn’t at work, Giant City State Park and Lodge is a place she frequents. “I love the beauty of the park, and all of the memories of family dinners and occasions at the The Lodge.” As a community based, not-for-profit, free standing hospice, we enjoy sharing what our employees love in the communities we serve. With that said, if you are looking to become a volunteer in the Marion area, please reach out to Donna. If you are interested in a wonderful meal in the community we serve, you may even run into her at The Lodge to chat and enjoy some fried chicken.
