Dennis Asbeck, Social Worker for Hospice of Southern Illinois, has been caring for patients and supporting families for 2 years. As a Navy Veteran himself, he does an exceptional job connecting with Veteran families we serve. He chose hospice because it is his hope, “that in some way, I can bring comfort to those individuals and their families who are coming to the end of life, following Christ’s example of love and compassion.” Dennis’s Favorite quote is: “Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier” Mother Teresa.
We asked Dennis what part of his job does he love the most: “I love the fact that I can, hopefully, make a difference by showing our patients and their families that someone does care. And, also, being able to work with a great team of people to ensure our patients’ needs are met.”
We enjoy sharing more about our caregivers. Dennis Asbeck and his Fiancé, Sue, also enjoy going out to many local establishments to listen to music, dance and play pool. Thank you Dennis for your service to Hospice of Southern Illinois, all the families you support and guide, and your service in the United States Navy. We are proud to have you on the team and proud to employ a Veteran who gave so much to our country and who continues to serve individuals at the end of their lives.
