Meet our first Hospice of Southern Illinois’ Care Ambassador. We define our Care Ambassadors as employees who uphold Hospice of Southern Illinois’ standard for excellent hospice care and service by going above and beyond for patients, families, team members, or the community. They are respectful, passionate, and dedicated to our goals and mission to enhance the quality of life for individuals and their loved ones touched by a terminal illness.
Jennifer Snavely is a Social Worker for Hospice of Southern Illinois, serving our patients and families for 4 years. Jennifer shared her passion for hospice care with us when she was selected as our first care ambassador, “I consider it a true privilege to work with those facing end of life and their families. I get to witness courage, grace, hope, determination, acceptance, faith, gratitude, compassion, relationships, and love on a daily basis. I am reminded to live fully each and every day.” What she loves most about working for Hospice of Southern Illinois is her patients, her boss and her coworkers.
As your local not-for-profit hospice, we want others to know that we live, play, and work in the communities we serve. One of Jennifer’s favorite places in the community is Camp Bow Wow in Swansea, Illinois. They take wonderful care of her dog, Charlie. She added, “I have peace of mind while he is there. He has a blast and is exhausted when he comes home!” Her favorite saying is, “keep it simple,” which totally describes her. We appreciate her contributions to our patients and families at Hospice of Southern Illinois!
