43rd Annual National Nursing Assistants Week – June 18-25, 2020
Hospice of Southern Illinois would like to extend a special thanks to nursing assistants and hospice aides. You provide additional support, personal care, security, wisdom, patience and humor to the daily lives of the individuals you care for and their families every day! June 18th marks the start of the 43rd annual National Nursing Assistants’ Week. This week provides a timely opportunity to foster and showcase the wonderful things that can happen for residents and workers when we join together in planning your special Week, “Nursing Assistants: Creating a Community of Caring.”
At Hospice of Southern Illinois, nursing assistants and hospice aides are the examples of “kindness in action”. Their professionalism and grace is unmatched, ensuring dignity and respect for all. Hospice aides assist with important daily tasks like personal care, bathing, and meal assistance. They provide additional support to nurses, healthcare professionals, families, community members, and individuals with a terminal illness. Most importantly, they provide extra peace and comfort for all individuals involved in the hospice journey. This consistency and compassion provides individuals receiving hospice care a better quality of life and security, the true philosophy of comfort care. With that said, the impact you make on those you work beside is appreciated. Above all, your care is needed, respected, and honorable. Thank you for your dedication to our mission, to enhance the quality of life for individuals and their loved ones touched by a terminal illness.
